Frenuloplasty Surgery In London

Frenuloplasty surgery in London need not be something to get anxious about.

From his surgery in Marylebone, Mr Minhas can provide you with the very best treatment during this procedure.

Frenuloplasty is required due to a number of medical reasons.

For example, frenulum breve (or a short frenulum as it is known) is a condition where the frenulum of the penis is too short.

The frenulum is a band of tissue beneath the glans of the penis that is elastic and connects to the foreskin.

It helps the foreskin to contract over the glans, however, in some cases it is too short and tight.

This causes restricted movement and pain in some men, especially when it comes to sexual intercourse.

But the problem can be rectified.

Frenuloplasty surgery procedure

Frenuloplasty is a simple procedure that is often carried out under local anaesthetic.

However, there are some cases where it can be carried out under general anaesthetic.

For those who undergo the procedure, then the surgeon will lengthen the frenulum.

This essentially removes the restriction, helping to increase the range of movement in the skin.

It is a relatively minor procedure that takes around 20 minutes.

The aim?

To enable the individual to have an erection without any pain or bleeding.

Frenuloplasty and recovery

Following a frenuloplasty, however, it is normal for some patients to experience some bleeding as well as swelling and discomfort.

In some cases, patients may be given absorbable stitches to keep the wound closed.

Any dressing applied can then be removed after 24 hours.

After the dressing has been removed, the area can be washed using soap and water.

And the stitches will dissolve after 7-10 days, although there will still be a small amount of bruising and swelling.

This soreness can remain for a further week or more.

After around two weeks, though, it is common for patients to return to their regular level of activity.

Driving is prohibited until patients can carry out an emergency stop without any pain.

Sexual activity can be resumed around two to three weeks after the procedure.

But more importantly, can only resume when the wound is pain-free and comfortable.
